After the success of their last album, “100% No Modern Talking”, with hits such as “Internet Friends” and “Destroy Them With Lazers,” we were all expecting great things from Knife Party’s next album. We are happy to say that the heavy-dropping, hard hitting, electro-dub duo has not disappointed at all with their new EP, “Rage Valley”.

Ever since Knife Party tweeted earlier this month that their new tracks had been mastered and were being sent over for release, we have been eagerly awaiting the release of this new EP. The new EP, which was released today, consists of four tracks: “Sleaze”, “Rage Valley”, “Centipede”, and “Bonfire”.

“Sleaze”, which some may previously have known as “Until They Kick Us Out” seems to be slightly different than some of the other tracks on the EP as it is bouncier and lighter and seems to incorporate fewer “dubby” elements. “Rage Valley” is another very upbeat track that utilizes the same sort of synth as in “Destroy Them With Lazers” as well as the famous Knife Party “whoop” synth. “Centipede” begins with a dark, Discovery Channel-style intro that warns of the dangers of centipedes the before launching into a very intense but amazing chorus that we’ve heard a few DJs, such as Nero, drop in some of their sets. “Bonfire”, maybe the best track on the EP, has a very Skrillex-type sound with the easy-going, chill, reggae beats followed by heavy electro-dub synths and growls for the chorus.

As Steve Aoki stated at UMF 2012 before leaving the stage, Knife Party are the hottest producers out right now. Their masterful blend of electro house and dubstep in this new album definitely proves his point and builds upon the success the duo had in “100% No Modern Talking.”
